Leaving Cowell we headed up through Port Augusta then through the Southern Flinders Ranges towards Peterborough. Loved the drive along the winding road through the ranges, very pretty. Stayed at the RV camp at Peterborough for the night. Peterborough has a rich Railway History with museums and Displays throughout the town.We were going to have a look at the Motorcycle museum but being a Sunday it was closed. The town provides a water fill up point, so we filled up and were on our way the next morning.
At Broken Hill we picked up supplies and went on to Silverton.

I loved Silverton
Silverton is a very interesting little town. The Silverton Pub has been used in many movies. It has a display of the different pub names used in these movies out back. There are lots of funny sayings and jokes hanging from the ceiling inside. When having a cold one outside we were visited by some donkeys coming over to drink at a trough that has been set up for them.

The Mad Max 2 movie was filmed here in Silverton and surrounding area. I love Mel Gibson so the Mad Max 2 Museum was a must for me. Adrian and Linda Bennett (the awesome owners) have spent years collecting memorabilia (cars, costumes, photos, props etc etc) and building this museum. They opened the doors in Sept 2010. A must see when visiting Silverton.

Just out of town is the Mundi Mundi Lookout with amazing views all round just lovely on sunset. From this lookout you can actually see the curvature of the earth.
