NSW/SA Border to Arno Bay

After leaving Mildura we had to stop at the NSW/SA border Quarentine Station where a lovely lady checked our car and van for fruit. All good as we had used up all our fruit before hand. Renmark was the next town so replenishing our fruit and veg we moved on to  take the Ferry across the river into the town Waikerie. Lovely clean little town with a lovely feel to the place and beautiful old buildings. On through Ramco to camp at the Graeme Claxton Reserve on the Murray once again. The cliffs across the river were like a giant wall which is lit up by flood lights at night. Lovely spot.

Next day on through Morgan, Burra, Spalding, Gulnare and Crystal Brook, to finally get to the salt water. Booked into the Port Germein Caravan Park.  The jetty here is 1.5 kms long so we hired a trolley from the park @ $5 per day to carry our gear. 

Ended up catching 11 legal crabs which we were happy about but alas no fish worth mentioning. Here we met a lovely couple Bob and Corah who gave us some tips on where to go from here. Cheers guys !!

Leaving Port Germein after 4 days we travelled up to Port Augusta and down through Whyalla and on to Cowell. Kev loves coming to Cowell for fresh oysters from Ash  (aka mad max) at Turners Oysters. Always a character and loves a chat. Stayed here for night.

Drove down to Port Gibbon for a look. Lots of great camp spots along the coast above the cliffs with ocean views.

The weather report said rain for a few days so we booked in to Arno Bay Caravan Park for 5 days. Steve and Leanne are great hosts. Very friendly atmosphere here. They have movie nights, bbqs,  fish and chip nights etc.  There is a jetty here as well so we set up some squid jigs and caught a few. Nothing like fresh squid . Yum….
