We arrived at Smoky Bay on Kevs Birthday, so first on the agenda was visit the Oyster Sheds and get him 5 doz oysters. Happy Birthday Kev !!!! The guys at the oyster shed were happy for us to get some footage of their workshop. The sorting machines are amazing, the oysters go along the belt and a camera takes a photo of each one to size them up and they are then blown off the belt into the right shute to be bagged. Kev of course had to sample some.
Down to the Caravan park to set up camp, It was nice to see Kim and Ally the owners again. Great people !! We set up quickly so we could get the boat off and in the water for some fishing. A couple of hours later we came in with 12 King George Whiting and 1 Crab.
The Jetty at Smoky Bay is lovely with 3 double sided shelters at the end, great for fishing off or just for a walk out.
Smoky Bay Jetty. Bit of an overcast day, you don’t get to see the beautiful colours. The water is usually so clear you can see the bottom even at 5 metres deep.
At times this year is has been a bit windy. The other day got up to 90 kms an hour so the awning came down just in case.
Christmas Day was celebrated with other holiday makers in the caravan park. We all got together for lunch in the camp kitchen, everyone bringing something to add to the table. A very MERRY afternoon full of laughs was had by all.
