While in Smoky Bay we met up with some friends Darren and Kath. Went exploring with these guys up to Point Brown and the Rock Pools where the boys dropped a line in the water ( didn’t catch anything but we had great fun together ). We drove further on to Acraman Creek just to have a look. Love exploring this beautiful country!!!!
On one of our visits to buy more oysters Lynton and Jocey from Smoky Bay Oysters were happy to show us the sorting and packing of the oysters in the shed and invited us out on their oyster barge to show us how they farm their oysters. It was very interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. Thanks guys.
Oyster Barge
We had to stay in Smoky Bay for a couple of extra weeks. Reason being I tripped and hyper extended my knee. Swollen badly. Not Good !! No fishing for me for a while. Kev kept us in fish though.
Kev and I were relaxing outside having a drink one afternoon and we got a visitor. A Brown snake came to say hello. We did get a fright that is for sure. The snake ended up a bit worse for wear after going into someones annex that had small children.

After my knee settled down a little we were off to Cowell on the other side of the Eyre Peninsula for a week to do some crabbing. First day we arrived we took the boat out and caught 40 crabs and spent hours peeling them.

We knew we would only have 2 days of good weather before the wind blew up, so the next day we out again and caught another 40 crabs and one nice flathead. Sharing the crabs with some people in the park was good (not so many to peel). They have great crab cooking facilities here in the Cowell Foreshore Caravan Park. Some of the people that come here every year for a few months at a time have helped build and assemble these facilities. Awesome set up.

The wind is quite strong at the moment, so the next couple of days we will spend inside. We will spend some time editing and finishing the first of our upcoming movies while we are here and wait for the wind to ease. Starting on our 2nd movie with some more fishing later in the week hopefully before heading up to Broken Hill, Silverton, Cameron Corner, Eromanga etc.
